Terms of Use
Effective October 9, 2026
If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line), or call 911. Toro is not a crisis service.
These terms are an agreement between you and Toro Mental Health LLC ("Toro," "we," "us") for using the Tools of Recovery app at app.toro.menu and its partner versions, such as newobsession.toro.menu. By using the app or creating an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Toro is, and isn't
Toro is a library of tools and resources that people in mental health and substance use recovery have found helpful: practices, books, apps, support groups, programs and local services. It describes what's out there; it doesn't tell you what to do.
Toro is not medical, psychological or legal advice, and it isn't a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Using Toro doesn't create a provider relationship with us. Talk with a doctor, counselor or other professional about decisions that affect your health, especially medications, treatment or stopping either one.
Who can use Toro
You must be 13 or older to create an account. If you're under 18, please review these terms with a parent or guardian. You're responsible for keeping your password private and for what happens under your account; tell us right away at info@toro.menu if you think someone else has used it.
About the tools listed
Tool descriptions, phone numbers, addresses, costs and links come from the organizations themselves and other public sources. We work to keep them accurate, but programs change, and we can't guarantee that any listing is complete, current or right for you. Please check details with the organization before relying on them, especially for crisis lines, eligibility and costs.
Listing a tool, provider or organization isn't an endorsement or recommendation, and we aren't responsible for their services or their websites. Upvotes and comments reflect other people's experiences, not ours.
What you share
You can post comments, send feedback, request changes to a tool and recommend new tools. You keep ownership of what you send. By sending it, you give Toro permission to use, edit, display and share it in the app and in running Toro, including in partner versions, without payment. If you recommend a tool and add a name to be credited, we may show that name on the tool.
We review comments and recommendations before they appear, and we may edit, decline or remove anything at any time. Ideas and suggestions you send us may be used freely.
Please don't post:
- anyone's private information, including your own health details or someone else's;
- anything abusive, hateful, harassing or threatening, or anything that encourages self-harm or substance use;
- advertising, spam, or content you don't have the right to share;
- medical claims presented as fact, or advice to start or stop a medication or treatment.
Using the app fairly
Don't misuse Toro: don't try to break or overload it, get into accounts or data that aren't yours, copy the tool library in bulk with automated tools, or use the app for anything illegal. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Toro's content
The app's design, writing and the way the library is organized belong to Toro Mental Health LLC or the people who licensed them to us. You may use the app for your own recovery and to help others, including as a peer specialist, provider or family member. Please don't republish or sell the library itself without our permission.
Partner versions
Partners such as New Obsession may offer Toro under their own name and look. These terms apply in those versions too. A partner's own services, outside the Toro app, are governed by the partner's terms.
Changes and ending
We may change or stop parts of the app at any time. You can stop using Toro and ask us to delete your account whenever you like (see the Privacy Policy). If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email; using Toro after that means you accept the new terms.
Disclaimers
Toro is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, including warranties that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose. You use the tools and resources listed at your own discretion.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Toro Mental Health LLC and the people who work with it aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for anything arising from your use of the tools, organizations or websites listed in the app. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, unless the law where you live requires otherwise. We'd much rather solve problems directly, so please write to us first.
